If you make a reservation for a vacation condo online and you have the confirmation number, is that a binding contract ahthough no money has changed hands?
Question Details:
We rented a vacation condo online and received the confirmation that everything was fine. A few days later the condo management company contacted us and said they cannot honor the rate because the website information was incorrect. Now we don't have a place to stay with out paying the highly increased nightly rate.
You need to carefully read all of the information stated in the website for the vacation rental that you visted and where you made a reservation for a set dollar amount and time period to see if the website has any disclaimers stating that confirmation number of the reservation is not a binding agreement until certain conditions happen such as payment and the like.
If there are no such conditions in the website that you visited or disclaimers as to the confirmation number, you seemingly have a binding agreement for the time period you wanted confirmed via a confirmation number for the set dollar amount.
