What will happen if I fail a drug test while on probation?

I'm on felony probation and have had a rough few months so a friend smoked a joint with me. I'm on first offenders probation and have never had a drug test but I have one in a couple days. I'm worried that I will fail. What will happen to me? I have a full-time job, a truck, finished all community service and haven't been late on my fine payment in over a year.
I can't tell you for certain, because this will be up to your probation officer and the authorities, who have a fairly large amount of lattitude in handling something like this. But I can tell you that if you do fail that drug test, you're going to have a problem, probably a serious one.
Failing the drug test almost certainly is a violation of your probation all by itself, and any violation of any law is a violation of probation. The consequences could range from an extension of your probation (adding more time) to jail time.
I hope that your probation officer is otherwise "happy" with you, because that counts for a lot. How much time you have left on probation might figure into this, and also what your conviction was for. If you're on probation for a drug offence, I'd say this is likely to be very bad news.
