Judge may want to know if you've stayed out of trouble since the time of conviction.  Whether you are leading a law-abiding and honorable life.  Whether you are currently working, and whether you were ever violated on your probation for the underlying offense.  Most likely he will have a rap sheet on you and will rule without asking you any questions at all.
