Question: Divorce, Marriage, Alimony - California

Asked on 7/13/2009
What is the Statute of Limitations concerning failure to obey a court order (contempt of court) during a divorce in California?
Is it 1 year if it is a state law and 5 years if it is federal? During divorce, then wife willfully disobeyed a direct court order to get underage son in to see a counselor before he turned 18. She stalled for most of the year until it was too late to see counselor before he turned 18. This was catastrophic to the reconciliation of a son to his father as son has suffered severe brainwashing. I would like to see if ex wife could be held in contempt of court for deliberately disobeying court order.

AttorneyPages has verified that this person is an attorney.

It is 1 year. Contempt won't work because it is impossible for her to remedy the situation now.
