My brother was arrested for DWI after being pulled over for license plate lights that were out. Then it was discovered that his license has been expired since 9/13/09. What penalties may he be facing?

A person convicted of DWI in NY faces a minimum fine of $500, maximum fine of $1000, $400 in court costs, a six month revocation of operating priveleges and up to one year in jail.,  In addition, DMV will also assess a Driver Responsibility Assessment Fee of $750 which must be paid in either one payment or spread out over 3 years at $250 per year.
