What is the best way to appeal a short term disability overpayment notice in the state of CA?
Question Details: I just received an overpayment notice for short term disability payments I received while on maternity leave earlier this year. While on maternity leave, I received a call from an EDD representative asking what type of payment I'd be receiving from my company b/c I had marked that I'd be receiving some form of payment while on leave. They said they'd talk to my employer to determine if I'd qualify to receive payments from the state. I didn't question the checks I received, now I'm being asked to pay back the amount in full.
