What is considered harboring a fugitive?
Question Details: I met a guy through a neighbor and we started dating; he moved in with me. One day I dropped him off at work but later I found that he was gone. I recenlty learned that he was arrested for a warrant. Could I be charged or get in trouble for harboring a fugitive even though I didn't know he was in trouble or wanted?
To be charged with harboring a fugitive, you must of 1) Known that the person in question was indeed a fugitive of the law, 2) Actually harbored or gave shelter to the fugitive with an intent to evade law enforcement. It does not sound like these two elements existed in your relationship with the fugitive, but if you are charged, you want to retain the representation of a criminal defense attorney.
