Hello.  A Complaint is the formal pleading that starts the lawsuit (and "complains" of some wrong done to the plaintiff).   An affidavit is a statement sworn to under penalty of perjury and may (usually in district court cases) be included in the Complaint.   If you are reading a docket entry,  it may be noting that a trial is scheduled on the claims alleged in the complaint.
