what I'm I facing after being charged for driving with revoked licence?(licence IL, charge in KS)

Question Details: I had DUI in NJ when visited friends,my licence is from IL. Completed all NJ court orders, paid fines, paid surcharge for first year, second I will start now.Completed Intoxicated Driver Program and finally received from NJ's DMV letter of restoration effective 06.01.09. 2 days ago I got pulled over in Kansas for speeding(strange situation)and got arrested for driving while licence is revoked. What did I do wrong? what can I do right now? What I'm I facing? My court date is November, the 2nd. Will it help if I show them this letter of restoration? Or I just missed something completely?

DUI / DWI Law Answers

You definitely want to bring the letter of restoration to court. The question is whether that letter from NJ automatically restored your driving privileges in IL or did you have to perform other actions (i.e. inform IL) or did IL still consider your license revoked.  You could contact the IL department of motor vehicles to find out what their opinion is on the subject. It may help you in court. Good luck.
