what happens if youre on parole and get a DUI
Question Details: i did 6.5 years in prison for **** sales and have 2 months remaining on parole. i just got a DUI. will i be sent back to prison or just get the penalties of receiving a DUI?

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. You need to talk with your probation officer. You may be able to make a deal with the state's attorney and not have to do the entire balance of whatever sentence you have hanging over your head. You also need to have a lawyer to determine whether youhave any defenses to the DUI that you get rid of the probation violation. Regardless, the lawyer should be able to get a good disposition that only requires minimal jail time as you currently face both the DUI and probation violation chargre.
