Question Details: My ex-husband is the only child his mother and father shared. Both sets of his grandparents are deceased. After getting married, we had 3 sons together, 2 living at this time. Since our divorce, he has had at least 3 more biological children but has never remarried. If he dies without a will, does my 2 sons have any legal claim to any property or land he may have inherited?
If he dies without a will, the intestate laws of North Carolina determine inheritance. Here is a link to the North Carolina intestate laws: http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/gascripts/Statutes/StatutesTOC.pl?Chapter=0029.
