What denotes a legal claim?

Question Details: My ex-husband is the only child his mother and father shared. Both sets of his grandparents are deceased. After getting married, we had 3 sons together, 2 living at this time. Since our divorce, he has had at least 3 more biological children but has never remarried. If he dies without a will, does my 2 sons have any legal claim to any property or land he may have inherited?
