Question: Wrongful Death - Accidental Death - California

Asked on 10/2/2009
What damages can be sued for under federal jurisdiction (under special maritime law) for a wrongful death?
My mother was murdered. Due to the location of the murder it is under federal jurisdiction with special maritime law. What damages can be sued for under the federal jurisdiction; specifically can one sue for pain/suffering or grieving in addition to the monetary loss? What kind of burden of proof would be needed?

Unfortunately, your situation is beyond the scope of this service.  You need to consult with an attorney in your area to adequately address the case.  If you need help in finding one you can refer to www.AttorneyPages.com.
