How do we make a complaint against an uncommunicative and unprofessional attorney?

Question Details:

What are the most common reasons somone would file a complaint against their attorney? Our attorney we hired for a toxic tort case rarely made any contact with us regarding our case. We called many times and left many messages yet never got any calls back, she was rude, extremely unprofessional, tempermental, and we feel we didn't get fairly represented by her. Is there any kind of complaint we can make?

I concur with the answer above. What happened with your case?

Yes there is.  You can file such a compliant with the State Bar of California.  I have provided you with a link for just this purpose:  http://www.calbar.ca.gov/state/calbar/calbar_generic.jsp?cid=10179.  The state bar is not just there for attorneys but consumers as well.  It may take several weeks or more to hear back but rest assured that your situation will be investigated.  Just remember to try and provide as much information as you possibly can; for example, when messages were left, how many, any witnesses to her behavior, and any related correspondence, etc.
