What are the laws in VA that govern who is eligible to apply for an individual policy?

Question Details: Specifically I want to know if I can opt out of a group policy at work to seek my own individual policy. My premiums on the work policy are more thn it appear I can get on my own. If not able to do so - what is the reason?

No, you do not have to take the insurance offered at work.  There is always an opt out provision or a waiver that you can sign to refuse coverage.  As long as you have no dependents to cover, if you can get a better deal individually, then take it.  Better check coverage for coverage, deductible for deductible, co-pay for co-pay though, and make sure the coverage is the same or better for the price.
