What are the consequences if I do not show up for a pretrial conference/mediation against a collections agency?

It depends onthe procedural laws in your state.  I am guessing that this conference is a required step to try and settle the matter prior to trial - the mediation part - but may also set a trial date and legal issues that the parties may have regarding evidence, etc.  It is not a good idea to miss it.  Good luck.
