What are my rights as a tentant ifmy landlord has been foreclosed on?

Question Details:

I understand my landlord gave up the house in which I am living in. She has not said anything to me about giving up the house. Is that legal for her to withhold telling the tenants? If so, how much time do I have to move?

Landlord / Tenant Law Answers

If your landlord lost the rental that you are living in due to a foreclosure, under 2010 federal law, if you are on a month-to-month rental, you have at least 90 days time period from written notice by the new owner to vacate assuming you are current on your rental payments.

If you have a term lease and time remains on it (for example six months), you have up through the end of the time period remaining to stay in the premises assuming you are current on your lease payments.
