What are my legal actions towards the cattery regarding the purchase of an infected kitten?
Question Details: I bought a kitten from a cattery. It turned out to be that he was infected with a fungus. I noticed that on my skin and on a kitten started to appear red spots 3 weeks after we bought the kitten. Then I visited a vet and he diagnosed him with a fungal infection. Now everyone at home is infected too. The kitten didn't have any signs of infection when we were buying him, while another kitten in the cattery had bald patches on his ears. When we asked the owner why, she explained that it's because they were playing with each other. What are my legal actions towards the cattery?
If you have a veterinarian's opinion in writing that the kitten that you purchased was infected with the fungus when received and you ended up incurring assorted expenses as a result after you brought it home, then you should send an invoice to the seller with back up documentation seeking repayment of the expenses that you incurred.
If the seller does not respond to the way you wish to resolve the situation, your option is small claims court.
