When subpoenaed to court what kind of ID is required?
Question Details:
I recieved a subpoena today because I witnessed some kids doing some things and filed a police report. I have been asked to appear and testify. I am not legally in the US. All Ihave is my counsular card. Will they ask for ID when I go? Will it be a problem?
I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. if you are within 100 miles of the court you will be required to attend the court hearing. You will not be penalized if you are not legally in the US as you will not have to show your ID. rather, the state will simply ask you questions about what you saw and how you reported the incident. you should not have anything to worry about here.

Are you a lawyer?
