warrant issued for FTA in 1999, left state in 1995 didn't know until 3 days ago, how can I fix something i didn't know about?
Question Details: In 1994 was arrested for Assault 2, case was thrown out, enter Army in 1995 and never went back to Alabama. Recently got calls that my face was on a bilboard for FTA on Assault 2. I was never notified of court or a warrant. I have been serving in the military sine 1995. How can I clear my record and maintain my career as a Soldier?
I am a licensed KS attorney. I am unclear on the facts, as this was flagged as a KS question: Did the alleged assault happen in KS or AL, and are you now a KS or AL resident? Feel free to email me at sean@roadlawyer.net if you wish to discuss this further.

I think one problem here is going to be proving that you knew, or reasonably thought you knew, that the charges were thrown out and the case was over. Another is going to be defending a 15-year-old assault charge. You need an Alabama lawyer for both of these; one place to look for attorneys in any state is our website, http://attorneypages.com
Documenting your enlistment will be the easy part. It will help quite a bit, with the FTA part of the problem, if you can prove that you didn't willfully fail to appear and honestly thought the case was done; that part of this should also help with your explanation to your commanding officer.
