Question Details: I had placed my order with an online vendor in August the order was supposed to arrive sometime in october, unfortuantely the complete order was not available till october and it was agreed to ship the partial order ASAP. The partial order arrived damaged and vendor started being irresponsive on addressing the issue. Finally, it was agreed to cancel the order and refund the deposit. All has ended, but the merchandise is still at my place, its been over a week and vendor is not replying to calls and emails to schedule pickup . What do i do ? Till what time can vendor claim back the merchandise?

Give the vendor a fair and reasonable deadline--send them, by email and by registered mail w/a receipt, something giving them, say, 15 business days to schedule a pick up and telling them that after that date you will dispose of the merchandise. If they get back to you and want a little more time but do schedule a return, that'd be fine; otherwise, if they don't get back to you, you'll have created a papertrail that you tried to accomodate them. Be sure to annotate that the shipping, etc. is their cost.
