Auto Accidents Law Answers

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  If you are giving permission to your daughter's husband or anyone for that matter to drive your car, you insurance is on the hook if they get into an accident.  to the extent that your policy does not cover the damages that are done, you may be help personally liable.

You are facing potentially endless liability here, if your son-in-law negligently causes an accident that kills or cripples one or more innocent people.  Your insurance does not cover the car, or you, while he is driving it, almost certainly (insurance law is complicated, and there are differences from one state to another;  I'm not a Texas attorney, but most states' law allows insurance companies to exclude any coverage for an accident caused by an unlicensed driver of the car).

I would not let this situation go on.
