Question Details: The neighbor says that the wall separating our houses is a "common" wall and a shared responsibility. He wants to share the maintenance expense. What are my legal obligations?

A common wall would be the wall to separate the two properties. If it is truely a common wall, then you would share half of the cost to maintain it.
