swimming pool leak in vinyl liner. Pool owner wants to submit claim on my insurance claim to replace liner, chemicals, water, loss of pool use.

Question Details: A pool that I had brushed down developed a leak in the vinyl liner later that day. The pool in question has a liner that is very antiquated and has been neglected for years as far as maintaining its chemical integrity, In other word it has been allowed to develop heavy algae blooms for years each winter leading to the degredation of the liner. The particular spot where the tear or leak occurred is in the most deteriorated area of the liner. My question is am I liable for the leak that occured since it wasn't present before I left the premises given the state of the liner itself.

Insurance Law Law Answers

If your customer wants to make the claim, you can't stop him -- he could always just sue you for the damages instead.  So you're probably best off giving the client the information.  Don't stall, but before you do that, make sure to report the incident to your insurance company yourself, and give them whatever helpful information you have -- and whatever else they ask for, within reason.

I don't know that you're liable.  Your customer will have to persuade the insurance company -- or a court -- that this was your fault.  The insurance company will defend you -- and pay the damages, if you're found to be in the wrong.
