Assuming the injured is not a minor, it is two years from the date of the accident.  However, do not wait because as time goes by, memories fade and documents may get lost.

I'm not a Texas lawyer, but my research suggests that it's two years from the date of the accident.  It's not a good idea to wait any longer than you have to, though, to put the case in the hands of an attorney, because after two years it can be harder to find witnesses and evidence that you need.
