What happens if the statue of imitations expires during discovery?

Question Details:

I was served a civil summons for old credit cardin September. It was answered pro se in October. The statue of limitations expired on debt in November (3 years in NC). Can I still be sued for this debt?

the summons would toll the statute of limitations which has to do when the creditor has to sue you so the answer is yes.

The statute can be "tolled". That is stopped from running by the filing of the suit.  Therefore, you can still be sued since the time period has not yet run out.
