solemnization dates
Question Details: my father passed in february. he wasn't sure that he was legally married to his second wife due to odd dates. he was going to seek a divorce but was tragically killed before he had the opportunity. my question is his license was issued on april 3, 1979. he was married on april 4, 1979 but the dates of solemnization were april 9, 1979 to june 1 1979. could this have made the marriage invalid. he said he didn't have proof of his first divorce when he went for his marriage license. thank you for your time.

I'm really not at all sure what you mean by "dates of solemnization." His wedding date is whatever shows in the official records. And the date of his first divorce is also something that you should be able to determine from official records, for whatever court heard that case.
If the first divorce wasn't final until after the wedding date for the second marriage, the second marriage never happened, it was void as a matter of law.
