Should the passenger of an auto wreck talk to the drivers insurance company without representation?

If the passenger is claiming inuries, it is strongly recommended that that passenger obtain a personal injury attorney.  However, there isn't a prohibitation against an insurance company contacting an unrepresented witness/injured party.
