Business Law Question from Campbell, Texas

Should I form a corporation or stay with my LLC?

I currently half own a communication company and it is an LLC. I have been given the opportunity to acquire several communication towers and am wanting to keep it separate from my installation company and was wondering if I should do a DBA under my current LLC or form a corporation to better protect myself and partner from any legal problems that could occur from people working on the towers. Or them falling during a storm etc.

I would advise you to keep it separate. You could form a separate LLC or corporation. If you like assistance of an attorney feel free to contact my office 713-524-4529

If you want to keep it separate from you existing business, do NOT do a d/b/a under the current LLC. Instead form a separate LLC (you can more than one) or a corporation, whicheve form you prefer. You could even have the new business structure owned by you LLC (but it's a separate legal entity, you'd have limitation of liability) or by yourself directly, whichever you prefer.
