Question: Real Estate - California

Asked on 10/3/2009

Short Sale

I am trying to buy a short sale. Bank has notified sellers of wanting to recover from them $110,000 making payments over the next several years. They won't pay and hired a real estate atty. for advice. Will this stop me from my purchase as I am not in escrow yet? They have moved out of the house in June.

You are in a complicated 3 party situation.   You need to have your own attorney to assist you.  There are various alternatives available to you, if you would like to own this house.   The best way to get the best price for this home is to have an attorney guide you through this complicated legal process.   You should be very careful about taking advice from real estate agents.   Their primary objective is to earn their commission, not necessarily your bottom line.
