What does it mean if my severance package stated that I "release them of all claims and liabilities of every kind and nature whether in law or equity, all other relevant state and federal statutes"?
Question Details: Does this mean I cannot file claim for unemployment?
If you were terminated, or fired--and not for cause (that is, not for something like insurbordination, violating company policy, excessive absenteeism, etc.)--you can still file for unemployment. What you can't do is sue them, such as for discrimination or unlawful termination.
