Insurance Law Law Answers

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  If you are a independant contractor your personal insurance is the policy that will be triggered if you get into an accident.  you are not an employee of any agency that insures you when you drive.  therefore, if you are going to be an independant contractor you need to have your own personal insurance.  If you have insurance now, that insurance will cover you in the event of an accident.  if you do not have insurance, then you should make it a point to obtain insurance before driving senior citizens around.
