I suffered a personal injury in home that I was temporarily staying at; can I file a claim against their homeowner's policy?

Question Details:

I was staying at a friend's home temporarily until I found an apartment. While playing with a super soaker squirt gun, it exploded in my eye and I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance and am still having treatment with possible surgery in the future. I stayed in the home just short of six weeks and have since moved out. Am I able to file a claim with the homeowner's insurance for medical, loss of wages, pain and suffering, etc?
