Question Details:

I had a fall in car park of local rugby club which caused serious head injuries but I have been told I can not claim compensation as I was chairman of the club and a member so I cannot sue the club. Is this right?

Personal Injury Law Answers

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  I am not sure how you are able to make a claim.  How did you fall?  What was the casue for the fall?  In order to recover, you need to prove that the owner of the premises that you fell created or permitted a dangerous condition on the property that proximately caused your injuries.  Proving that the owner has notice of the defect causing you to get injured is one of the hardest things to prove.  I suggest you talk to a lawyew in person and explain the facts in more detail.
