How does the court view the term split evenly in regards to holidays?

Question Details:

In my parenting plan it states the some of the Holidays are to be split evenly. I believe that this would mean that the holiday would be split 12hours and 12hours. I would like to know how the court would view or interpret split evenly.

It generally means that the holiday vacations are split equally for school aged kids.  The parties usually reach agreement on what that split will look like.  If they can't, it may take a hearing to sort it out.   For pre-school kids, it generally refers to the day only; for example, Christmas may mean that one party takes Christmas Eve and the other Christmas Day and they switch every year, or it may mean that they split the actual Christmas Day with the exchange happening somewhere in the afternoon.  Call an attorney for more details on how to split the holidays and to discuss your specific situation.
