Question Details:

Once I go to court and file bankruptcy, when can I apply for a "secured" credit card? Can it be before my case is formally discharged?

Bankruptcy Law Answers

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law.  You need to wait until after the bankrupct order is entered and approved.  You may then apply for a credit card, however, you may have a hard time getting approval as a result of the recent bankruptcy petition.
