No lasting physical damage 7 months later, but some emotional damages. What would be reasonable compensation for pain and suffering?

Question Details:

My 3 year old son was involved in an accident that occurred in a Beaverton Safeway, and was struck by the slow moving cart collecting machine and was pinned on the ground. He was rushed by ambulance to ER and was diagnosed w/a closed head injury and released from the hospital 2 days later. MRI’s/CT’s were all negative and doctor said apart from some emotional issues everything was okay with him. Since the accident he has been obviously very clingy and not wanting to be away from his mom, also he is very afraid of carts. Counseling was suggested but ruled out as he is still learning to talk.  Do I need an attorney?

If you are contemplating filing a personal injury lawsuit, you do need an attorney as it involves medical issues (and much evidence that needs to be documented).
