NJ RN/NCLEX backroung check

Question Details: I will be sitting for the state NCLEX exam early next year. There is an application where you have to admit to a conviction. I have a felony from the state of DL that I could only get pardoned. I can't remember why it couldn't be expunged. Do I need to admit to a felony that happened over 10 yrs ago? If yes, do you know how harsh the board is in NJ?

Your question will involve research and a number of meetings with counsel. Please telephone me at either (732)932-7226 (office) or (732)710-0004 (cell).

You will probably have to disclose it.  A pardon means that you have been officially excused for your crime; it restores your rights. However, depending on your felony, your record will be viewable by certain agencies. Typically, healthcare being one.

Right now, you really need to consult with an attorney in your area as to your rights/obligations under specific state law.
