NEED LEGAL ADVICE, SEE BELOW

Question Details: This is my question for you and hopefully you can give me good advice. I had problems with my niece who is 15 yrs old and ask her to come in so I may talk to her. When she came in I asked her to "sit here in the chair" in front of me,but instead of sitting down so I could talk to her she proceeded to keep walking.I stuck my arm out in front of her to say "didn't u hear me?" and that is when she pushed my arm down and rushed me as if she was gonna push me down, but instead of pushing me down I grabbed hold of her and held her there for about two minutes until she calmed down. Once she calmed she sat down like I asked her in the beginning so I could talk to her. She later called the police and now they want to charge me with domestic violence. What can I do?

Since any offensive contact in this scenario could be construed as domestic violence your  recourse is to try your case or make a plea bargain with the prosecutor. One might be workable depending on the totality of circumstances. If you'd like more information , call me directly at 586 - 268 2400
