Need help with insurance policy fraud.

Question Details: Discovered Stonebridge Life has been deducting $9.95 per month from my Bank Of America Checking account for the past 11 years without my authorization for a policy that I knew nothing about. Someone has authorized a 1,000,000 accidental death and dismemberment policy. The Certificate of insurance page (copy of it) that they recently sent me states,"Stone Bridge Life Insurance Company has issued Policy #XXXXX to Bank of America. B of A says they can't trace the origin. Stonebridge says because they know the city I was born in this gives them authorization. No phone voice recordin available.

Knowing your city of birth has nothing to do with authorizing a policy. Step 1: tell B of A to cut off access to your account; step 2, to make sure of that, close this account and open a new one, so there's a different number; step 3, tell B of A this was fraud since you never authorized and were not even aware--ask if they can reverse all, or least some, charges; step 4, report this fraud to your state Attorney General's office and also file a police complaint--get the government looking into it; step 5, let Stonebridge know (since you seem to be in contact with them) that if they don't refund your money, you will sue them.

Also, getting back to set 3-- if B of A cannot or will not explain the origin of this policy, you can tell them that you will consider them an accessory to a fraud and take action against them, too. At a minimum, you can ask that the bank make you whole since you did not authorize the deduction from your account (or if you did and they forget, they need to be able to provide proof).
