Name added on the deed.

Question Details: I am married & the mortgage & deed are in my husband's name. How do I get my name added to the deed?

If the property is financed, then you maybe in violation of the mortgage if you add your name to the title without the lender's consent. Typically, a mortgage forbids the transferring ownership, changing ownership, or creating any other encumbrance to the title.  You will need to check on this.  Once done, he can execute a quit claim deed to convey 1/2 of his interest in the property to you.

Note:  In order to get the lender's permission for this. you may have to go on the mortgage as well.
