This is a matter that would be covered under the Uniform Child Custody Jurisidiction Act.  Usually the home state of the child controls which state has jurisdiction.  There are different criteria which are used to determine the appropriate state to decide the issue.  You can file a limited appearance in FL to object to Fla's jurisidiction.  You may want to consult with a FL attorney on that issue.  www.NYAttorneyDivorce.com www.CriminalDefense1.com
