Anything which is jointly owned can be targetted by creditors, including cars, boats, house, joint bank accounts, etc. Creditors may only be able to get part of it--that part that represent's your spouse's portion--but they can definitely reach at least that much. Also, they can garnish his income, which could clearly have an impact on you if his income is significant to the family.
You should speak with an attorney about how best to shield some of your assets from creditors of your spouse, such as by putting them wholly in your name. Good luck.
