my spouse and I have not lived together since1998. what document do I need to not be responsible for HER debts?

A divorce decree and not signing as cosigner on anything will both do the trick. The issue is in Ohio marital debt is any debt that accrues during a marriage. You can argue that the marriage should have ended in 1998 however the court may decide it doesn't end until the date of divorce. You need to file to be completely protected.
