If my son was convicted of grand larceny over $2000, can that charge be removed from his record?
Question Details:
He was ordered to pay $100 for the fine, plus court costs. He did sit in jail for a few weeks before we could get him out but no other jail time or probation where ordered (and no mention of time served, if it matters). The judge seemed partial to his circumstance, but the prosecutor would not budge on the point of lowering the offense to a misdemeanor or even a lower felony.
It may be possible to expunge his record under Penal Code Section 1203.4. He must have completed all terms of probation.
