Will a probation violation show up in a background check?

My son arrested for DUI and it was reduced to probation. He did not report to probation and would like to relocate to another state. If they do a background check for a job in the new state will this show up?
If your son was convicted for a violation of the terms of his probation, the conviction will end up as a permanent record for him and most likely it will show up on all background checks for employment in every state in this country.
