My sister had a Will written up in one stae but now lives in another, is it still valid in her new state of residence?
Question Details:
She had a lawyer write up an official Will but several people told her that her new state will not recognize it. Is this true?
A Will that is valid in the state where it was executed will be valid in the other states. Therefore, it is typically not necessary to execute a new Will just becasuse the person has moved to a state other than the one in which he or she executed her Will.
