On the basis of what you right, it would be your total medical and lost wages ($1,610) less the deductible ($1,000) or $610. A deductible in this case would function like a deductible on health insurance or homeowner's insurance--you get back the loss after the deductible.

Note that if you also suffered property (e.g. car) damage, you could sue for that damage (or if you have collision coverage, submit to your own insurer), in addition to what your woudl recover for PIP.
