Question: Medical Malpractice - Michigan

Asked on 10/26/2009
My husband was dropped by the EMTs on an ambulance call and was injured, what can we do?
9/4/09 my husband had fluid (clear) removed from knee, it was brucitis. 9-5 his heart went into A-Fib. Ambulance came and the EMTs dropped my husband, gurney and all. My husband landed directly n his knee and has had to have 3surgeries since. He contacted MRSA some how. We do not know if he got the MRSA from the mud water he was lying in or how he got it. But He has had 3 surgeries. 9-7, 9-16 and 9-18. He was on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks, and he is just now walking with a cane. We are looking at physical therapy and his knee is still open 2" by 5". Is there anything we can do aboutt his?

You don't explain why the EMT's dropped your husband.  If it was because of their negligence or they did it intentionally, they individually and/or their company could be liable for damages caused by their actions.  It's also not clear that the surgeries he underwent were solely caused by the "drop" or were related to his other medical condition(s).   I would need additional information to better analyze this possible claim.  Attorney Allen M.
