If you went to court and got a legal separation, check the court order for allocation of property.  If the order states that you are granted ownership of the car, you should be able to take that order to the local bureau of motor vehicles and have the car transferred into your name.  If not legally separated - you/he just moved out, he must transfer the car to you, or give you a limited power of attorney to do the transfer.
