Question: Divorce, Marriage, Alimony - Texas

Asked on 8/13/2009
My husband provides child support for 2 children now. If I make an investment will his ex-wife have access to that money?
I am making an investment in my name only, my husbands name is not on it anywhere. Is it possible for his ex-wife to get child support from my investment?

It's absolutely proper for you to invest, on your own, but if the ex-wife finds out that your investment is made with any of your husband's earnings from income, or interest from one of his accounts, she can invade the investment up to 50%.

But, if his money is absolutely NOT going into your investment, you should be safe.
